Theodore also survived an assassination attempt, and gave a 90 minute speech before going to the hospital only to learn that the bullet was lodged in too dangerous of a place to remove, therefore carrying the bullet in his chest for the remainder of his life. What else could put an exclamation point on a man who lived the epitome of masculinity besides a sweet, sweet mustache?
